Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday reaffirmed that facilitating business and accelerating investment remain the government’s top priorities, as he chaired the inaugural review meeting of the Private Sector Committee on National Industrial Development in Islamabad.

He said sustainable economic growth, job creation and higher national income were not possible without a strong industrial base.

The prime minister acknowledged the business community’s support during difficult periods, saying their cooperation helped the country navigate economic challenges.

He noted that Pakistan’s economic trajectory has improved and the country is “moving towards development,” but stressed that further hard work is needed to consolidate progress.

During the meeting, policy recommendations were presented to strengthen industrial development and attract greater investment.

Officials also shared a comparative analysis with regional economies to highlight measures required to boost Pakistan’s industrial competitiveness.

The prime minister praised the proposals and directed that they be aligned with recommendations from other economic sectors to form a unified national policy framework.

He instructed the relevant authorities to conduct a detailed assessment and prepare an implementation plan.
