Trilateral ministers’ conference: Pakistan, China agree to expand CPEC to Afghanistan

Dar, Muttaqi and Wang agree to boost efforts against terrorism

Pakistan, China and Afghanistan on Wednesday expressed their commitment to strengthen joint efforts against terrorism.

The Sixth Trilateral Foreign Ministers Dialogue was held in Kabul between Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Foreign Minister of China Wang Yi and Acting Foreign Minister of Afghanistan Amir Khan Muttaqi, focusing on political, economic and security cooperation, a Foreign Office spokesperson said in a statement.

The ministers also reaffirmed their commitment to deepening collaboration in trade, transit, regional development, health, education, culture, and combating drug trafficking, as well as the extension of CPEC to Afghanistan.

Later, the DPM/FM departed for Pakistan after concluding his one-day visit to Kabul.

Earlier today, Ishaq Dar met the Afghan foreign minister to discuss significant matters of bilateral interest.
