Rawalpindi, Murree record surge in dengue cases

Administration inspects over 4.1 million households to uphold SOPS

The Rawalpindi and Murree cities have reported an alarming rise in dengue cases, with nearly 100 patients testing positive for the virus in recent days.

A total of 4,414 patients in Rawalpindi were screened for fever-related complaints, of which 46 were confirmed to have dengue. In Murree, 537 people were screened, and 53 tested positive for the virus.

The district administration reported that inspections were carried out at more than 4.1 million households in Rawalpindi.

Dengue larvae were found at 12,551 locations. Authorities launched strict action against violators of dengue SOPs: 2,709 individuals faced legal action, 1,167 premises were sealed, and 2,921 challans were issued. In Murree, 53 sites were sealed and 191 fines imposed.

Health authorities said operations are ongoing to eliminate breeding sites and urged the public to follow preventive guidelines to curb the spread of the virus.
