National Assembly condemns India’s August 5 actions in occupied Kashmir

Unanimous resolution rejects Indian measures in IIOJK as illegal

The National Assembly on Tuesday unanimously adopted a resolution condemning India’s unilateral actions of August 5, 2019, in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

The resolution was tabled by Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs Amir Maqam.

According to the resolution, India undertook illegal actions in Jammu and Kashmir on August 5, 2019.

The House expressed unwavering solidarity with the people of Jammu and Kashmir in their struggle for the right to self-determination.

The House categorically rejected all unconstitutional actions, domestic laws and policies adopted by India in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

The resolution declared that these actions were in clear violation of United Nations resolutions and international laws.

It paid tribute to the sacrifices, bravery, and courage of the Kashmiri people and strongly condemned the atrocities and human rights violations committed by the Indian armed forces.

The House also called for the immediate release of all political prisoners in Indian occupied Kashmir.
