Brad Pitt open to reuniting with Tom Cruise for potential F1 sequel
Hollywood star Brad Pitt has expressed openness to reuniting with Tom Cruise for a potential sequel to his upcoming Formula 1-inspired film.
Speaking at the premiere of F1 in Mexico City, Pitt shared his enthusiasm for working alongside Cruise again, provided the project remains “on the ground” and doesn’t involve any risky aerial stunts.
The two actors, who last worked together in the 1994 hit Interview with the Vampire, have long shared a friendly rapport and mutual respect in the industry.
Pitt humorously remarked that while he’s happy to collaborate with Cruise, he’s not keen on performing daring airborne stunts something Cruise is famously known for.
Director Joseph Kosinski, who helmed both Top Gun: Maverick and F1, revealed that he once envisioned a racing film featuring both Pitt and Cruise.
However, the idea was shelved due to logistical challenges, including both actors’ desire to handle high-speed driving scenes themselves.
Brad Pitt’s latest film, F1, which he also co-produces, revolves around a former Formula One driver returning to the sport to mentor a young racer.
The film features an ensemble cast including Javier Bardem and Damson Idris, and officially released in theaters on June 27.
