Five Pakistani players reach Asian Junior Squash Championship semifinals

Pakistani squash players continued their stellar performance at the 32nd Asian Junior Squash Championship, with five athletes securing their spots in the semifinals across various age categories.

In the Boys U19 category, Abdullah Nawaz delivered a dominant performance, defeating Hong Kong’s Wong Wing Kuen in straight sets with a scoreline of 11-4, 11-4, 11-6 to move into the final four.

Pakistan also made a strong showing in the Boys U15 division, where top seed Nauman Khan outclassed India’s Harshal Rana 11-6, 11-5, 11-7. His compatriot, Ahmed Rayan Khalil, followed suit with a commanding victory over Malaysia’s Armann Merzha bin Ashraff, winning 11-7, 11-3, 11-3.

In the Boys U13 event, top-seeded Sohail Adnan booked his place in the semifinals with a clinical 11-2, 11-8, 11-2 win against India’s Abhyuday Arora.

Pakistan’s success was not limited to the boys’ categories. In the Girls U13 quarterfinals, Mahnoor Ali cruised past India’s Anika Kalanki, winning 11-6, 11-2, 11-3 to advance to the next round. However, in the Girls U15 division, Sehrish Ali was eliminated after a straight-set loss to Malaysia’s Siti Syaurah A Sufian.

With five players now in the semifinals, Pakistan has emerged as a strong contender for multiple medals at the prestigious junior championship.
