Two people were killed and several others injured in a bomb blast in the central area of Rakhni, a tehsil of Barkhan district in Balochistan, on Monday.

According to initial information, the explosive device was planted on a motorcycle.

The blast occurred in a busy part of Rakhni town, killing two individuals on the spot. The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

Police officials stated that the blast shattered the windows of nearby shops and buildings. A pickup truck parked close to the explosion site was also damaged.

Law enforcement agencies, including police and Levies forces, cordoned off the area immediately after the incident.

A bomb disposal squad has begun collecting forensic evidence from the site to aid in the investigation.
