A police spokesperson said that Saddar Khan Pur personnel killed a “wanted robber” in an exchange of fire with armed dacoits in Rahim Yar Khan on Monday.

He said that a police officer tried to stop suspect motorcycle riders at a checkpoint and they opened fire on the police.

He stated that in retaliation, a robber identified as Zafar Chongali was killed, he added.

The spokesman also added that the robber was a proclaimed offender, adding that the police recovered a gun from his possession.

District Police Officer (DPO), Irfan Ali Sammo, appreciated the quick response of the police, he added.
