The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports local chapter Tuesday said that the government is unlikely to increase the passport fees from next fiscal year 2025-26 as these were revised up last year.

Currently, the normal fee for a 36-page ordinary passport for 5 years is Rs 4,500, while the urgent processing fee is Rs7,500. Likewise, for a 10-year validity period, the fee for a 36-page passport is Rs 6,700, with an urgent fee it is Rs 11,200.

Similarly, for a 72-page passport for 5 years, people will have to pay Rs 8,200 for normal processing and Rs 13,500 for urgent processing.
