The announcement came after a meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee held in Islamabad under the chairmanship of Maulana Syed Abdul Khabir Azad. Officials from the Pakistan Meteorological Department, SUPARCO, and other relevant institutions were also present to assist the committee.

Separate meetings of the zonal moon sighting committees were also held in major cities including Lahore, Karachi, Quetta, and Peshawar.
