Cyclone to develop near Karachi
A low pressure system situated 1,075 kilometers southeast of Karachi is anticipated to develop into a depression within the next 36 hours, the Met Office said on Thursday.
The Meteorological Office indicates that the system is expected to move northward, indicating that a cyclone like situation can occur close to Karachi .
However, they confirmed that in current weather situation there is no threat to Pakistani coastal areas.

In October 2024, Karachi is grappled with a severe heat wave, attributed to the formation of a low-pressure area in the Arabian Sea, located southeast of the city.
The weather remained hot and dry for the next 24 hours, with maximum temperatures predicted to reach between 37 and 39 degrees Celsius.
