Gold price surges again in local, international markets
Gold prices in Pakistan continued their upward trajectory on Monday, with a significant increase recorded across the country. The price of 24-karat gold rose by Rs4,000 per tola, reaching an all-time high of Rs342,500, according to the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Association.
Similarly, the price of 10 grams of gold increased by Rs3,429, now standing at Rs293,638.
The sharp rise in domestic prices is attributed to a sudden spike in both international and local bullion markets at the start of the business week. The international gold rate surged by $40, bringing the price to $3,241 per ounce, a notable increase driven by economic uncertainty and investor interest in safe-haven assets.
Local jewellers note that the current volatility in the international market, combined with currency fluctuations, is influencing local rates, with further adjustments likely in the coming days.
