National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCA) Multan has dismantled a global cybercrime network operating from Pakistan, arresting 14 members of a 21-member syndicate in coordinated raids across Multan and Lahore, according to an FIR.

The NCCA Multan said the operation was carried out in collaboration with sensitive security agencies. The arrested members include eight from Multan and six from Lahore. The network was found to be involved in massive online fraud targeting American and foreign nationals, with dozens of phishing and fraudulent websites now blocked.

The main suspect, Rameez Shehzad, allegedly defrauded millions of dollars from American citizens and foreign entities. He had established operational cells in both Multan and Lahore. Authorities conducted raids on four properties in Lahore, recovering a significant cache of digital evidence.

Among the arrested individuals are Muhammad Aslam, Adeel Aziz, Usama Nawaz, Abdul Muiz, and Shoaib Nazir. Mobile phones, laptops, and various data storage devices were seized during the raids. All arrested suspects are now under investigation under multiple provisions of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) and the Pakistan Penal Code.

Rameez Shehzad had been traveling frequently to Abu Dhabi, and his travel history has now been obtained. Authorities have imposed an international travel ban on the suspects and added their names to the Exit Control List (ECL). In addition, expensive vehicles and other assets worth millions of rupees have been seized.

The arrested suspects have been placed on a seven-day physical remand. Forensic analysis has helped track phishing websites used to defraud American citizens and financial institutions. Tools used for financial crimes, often masked under gambling and gaming platforms, have also been recovered and secured as evidence.
