‘Wait for our response’: Pakistan’s warning after India attacks three airbases
India attacked multiple airbases inside Pakistan and fired missiles at locations in Afghanistan, a Pakistan military spokesperson said late Friday night.
However, Pakistan air defense system intercepted a large number of Indian missiles and all the operational assets of the PAF were safe and secure, said DG-ISPR Lt. Gen Ahmed Sharif.
Shortly after the attack, Pakistan launched a counter-offensive against India, security sources told Aaj News. State-run PTV also reported that Pakistan had launched counter-offensive.
Pakistan has named its actions as Operation Bunyanun Marsoos, taking the term from a Quranic verse which means ‘surely Allah lvoes those who fight in His cause in solid ranks as if they were once concrete structure.’
Only a few hours after Lt. Gen Sharif came on TV live to confirm that India had attacked Pakistani bases, there were reports that “fire was being unleashed on Delhi, Rajasthan and Gujrat,” sources said.
Gen Sharif had told India to “wait for our response” when he confirmed the Indian attacks.
“Using its aircraft, India has fired surface-to-air missiles targeting Nur Khan base (in Rawalpindi), Murid air base (Chakwal), and Shorkot base. Reports received so far say that all assets of the air force are secure,” said Lt. Gen Ahmed Sharif.
By its madness, aggressiveness and Machiavellianism India is pushing the entire region to a deadly war, said the general. “We just want to tell it that we won’t be cowed by your power, Machiavellianism or aggressiveness. Now just wait for our response.”
It was the second press conference by the military spokesperson within an hour. Earlier, he revealed that India had fired six missiles at the Indian Sikh population in Amritsar and Adampur.
Lt. Gen Sharif addressed another press conference later and said that Pakistan’s air defence system had intercepted most of India’s missiles and destroyed them in mid-air. A few that sneak past did not damage the operational assets of Pakistan Air Force, he said.
He said India was acting in desperation and pushing the region towards war but he could not demoralize Pakistani people.
He said that Pakistan had digital signature of all the Indian missiles to prove where they were launched from.

Drone shot down
In a separate incident, an Indian surveillance drone was reportedly shot down in the Narang Mandi area on the outskirts of Lahore. Security officials confirmed that no drones were observed flying over Lahore city itself, and no explosions were recorded within urban limits.
Meanwhile, another drone was downed in the border village of Jaisangh Wala in Sheikhupura district. The drone’s crash led to a small explosion, igniting crop residues in the area.
