On Thursday, a high-level security meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reviewed Indian aggression in detail and resolved to continue Pakistan’s strong retaliatory actions in the face of ongoing provocations.

Held at the Prime Minister’s Office, the meeting was attended by top civil and military leadership, including federal ministers and key security officials. The participants received detailed briefings on India’s recent cross-border actions and Pakistan’s defensive operations.

According to official sources, the forum was briefed on the Indian drone incursions and Pakistan’s robust military response. Participants were informed that 25 Israeli-made drones operated by India had been shot down by Pakistan’s air defence systems.

The forum reiterated its commitment to respond to every act of hostility and vowed to avenge the loss of innocent lives. “Every drop of Pakistani blood will be accounted for,” the participants declared.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the armed forces for their professionalism and valour, stating, “The entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with the Pakistan Armed Forces. We are proud of our defenders and are prepared for every eventuality.” He added that Pakistan remains committed to peace but will not compromise on dignity and sovereignty.

The prime minister further stated that the Pakistan military has successfully downed Indian drones and fighter jets. “The armed forces are fully capable of thwarting enemy designs,” he affirmed.

The National Security Committee has also authorised the military to take all necessary steps in defence of the country, granting full operational autonomy in response to Indian aggression.

It is worth noting that on the night between May 6 and 7, following the April 22 incident in Pahalgam in which tourists were killed, India launched attacks on Pakistani civilian areas under the cover of darkness, effectively initiating open hostilities. In response, Pakistan downed five Indian fighter jets, including three Rafales, and destroyed multiple military outposts, including a brigade headquarters. India later acknowledged defeat by raising white flags at the LOC’s Chora Complex.
