Unknown assailants targeted the vehicle of religious leader Haji Nawaz, injuring him and five others, in Lahore.

Police reports indicate that the injured include Haji Nawaz, his wife, son, brother, and two bodyguards.

All victims have been transported to Jinnah Hospital for treatment.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the shooting and are collecting evidence from the scene.

Haji Nawaz was a candidate for the Punjab Assembly from the PP-166 constituency.
