Pak-China relations advancing rapidly in positive direction, says Chinese ambassador

PM expresses gratitude to China for providing scholarships to Pakistani students

The Chinese ambassador to Pakistan, Jiang Zaidong, stated that relations between Pakistan and China are advancing rapidly in a positive direction.

This progress is illustrated by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s recent successful visit to China and the increasing agricultural cooperation between the two nations.

Speaking at a ceremony for sending 1,000 Pakistani graduates to China for higher education and training, Ambassador Jiang noted that Prime Minister Sharif visited China just a few months after taking office, where he met with President Xi Jinping.

During their meeting, they discussed all aspects of bilateral relations and reached consensus on various issues.

Ambassador Jiang emphasized that President Xi Jinping places special importance on relationships with neighboring countries, and China’s diplomatic policy aims to promote friendly and cooperative relations.

He described the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as a key initial project of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), highlighting that direct investments totaling $25.4 billion have been made so far, creating new job opportunities in Pakistan.

Prime Minister Sharif stated that the day marks a significant milestone for Pakistan’s agricultural sector, as 1,000 agricultural graduates will be going to China for advanced education.

He expressed gratitude to the Chinese government for providing scholarships to Pakistani students.

During his recent visit to China, the Prime Minister was impressed by the modern research and technology at an agricultural university.

He stated that the initiative to send agricultural graduates for training in China aims to revolutionize Pakistan’s agricultural sector.

Federal Minister for Industries and Production Rana Tanveer Hussain confirmed that the selection of these students was based on merit and transparency. He noted that China has achieved remarkable advancements in agriculture through technology and research, and now Pakistani students will return after their training to provide modern agricultural knowledge to local farmers.

Official stated that this initiative will not only further strengthen bilateral relations but also open pathways for sustainable development in Pakistan’s agricultural sector.
