Major shock for consumers as Pakistan announces new petroleum prices
The government has announced that the prices of petroleum products will remain unchanged, following a notification from the Finance Ministry.
The price of petrol is confirmed at Rs254.63 per liter, while diesel is set at Rs258.64 per liter.
Despite expectations of a potential decrease in petrol prices by Rs8.27 per liter and a reduction of Rs6.96 in high-speed diesel, the current rates will remain in effect.
In addition to price stability, the government has adjusted the levy rates on petroleum products.
- The levy on petrol has increased to Rs8.72, raising the total to Rs78.72 from the previous rate of 70 Pakistani Rupees.
- The levy on high-speed diesel has risen by Rs7.01 Pakistani Rupees, now set at 77.01.
