Global stock markets decline as Bitcoin plummets after Trump’s tariff announcement
In the wake of U.S. President Donald Trump’s announcement of new tariffs, stock markets worldwide have taken a hit, and the digital currency Bitcoin has seen a significant decrease of over 10%, putting crypto investors in a difficult position.
Following the tariffs, Bitcoin’s price has dropped to $75,648 per coin with a trading volume of $51.94 billion.
Earlier, buoyed by promises of economic growth from the newly elected president in late 2024, Bitcoin had soared to $100,000. In January of this year, the cryptocurrency was trading at $109,993.
Now, Bitcoin is experiencing a notable decline, having fallen by $34,345 from its previous all-time high.
