Heatwave predicted across Sindh, Punjab, and Balochistan
A heatwave is predicted to impact various regions of Sindh, Punjab, and Balochistan, with temperatures expected to rise 4 to 7 degrees above normal levels.
The Meteorological Department has issued an advisory regarding the heatwave, recommending that outdoor activities for children in schools be restricted.
In Rawalpindi and Islamabad, recent rain accompanied by thunder and lightning has helped break the heat wave that had lasted for two days. Looking ahead, the Meteorological Department forecasts partly cloudy skies and potential rain in the upper regions and northern Balochistan over the next 24 hours.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, conditions are also expected to be partly cloudy. The department indicated that the southern districts of the province will likely experience hot weather during the day.
A chance of rain, along with thunderstorms and strong winds, is anticipated in areas including Peshawar, Nowshera, Mardan, Charsadda, Swabi, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Buner, Malakand, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Battagram, Kohistan, Torghar, Kurram, Khyber, Orakzai, Mohmand, Kohat, Hangu, Karak, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Dera Ismail Khan, Tank, and North and South Waziristan within the next 24 hours.
Rain was recorded in some locations of Kohistan and Chitral yesterday, with Drosh receiving 4 mm and Patan reporting 9 mm of rainfall. In Peshawar, the minimum temperature was noted at 20 degrees Celsius, while the maximum is expected to reach 36 degrees Celsius. Additionally, Kalam and Chitral recorded lower temperatures of 10 degrees Celsius.
A mix of partly cloudy weather and rain accompanied by winds and thunderstorms is anticipated in Islamabad and its surroundings. Isolated hailstorms may also occur during the forecast period. Meanwhile, the majority of the province is expected to experience dry conditions, with notably hot weather in the southern districts throughout the day.
Northern districts, including Zhob, Musakhel, and Kalat, may see similar weather conditions with the likelihood of rain and thunderstorms later in the afternoon.
In Balochistan, hot and dry weather will dominate most areas, but rain and thunderstorms are forecasted for Murree, Rawalpindi, and several districts in Punjab, including Lahore and Faisalabad. Possible hailstorms may also affect isolated locations during this time.

Sindh is expected to experience very hot and dry conditions across the province. However, as for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, rain and thunderstorms are expected in regions such as Chitral, Swat, and Abbottabad, with gusty winds accompanied by possible rainfall in places like Peshawar and Kohat. Hailstorms may occur at various locations in this province as well.
In Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir, cloudy weather with isolated rain and thunderstorms is also expected, adding to the unsettled weather pattern across various regions of the country.
