Have you seen expensive solar panels being destroyed by a storms and swathes of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces in Pakistan? Well, finally now we have a solution to that costly problem.

Canadian Solar has unveiled a new 630-watt solar panel designed to handle extreme weather like hailstorms, while also offering higher energy efficiency and reduced costs for solar system owners.

Built tough for harsh weather

The new panel, called TOPBiHiKu6 Anti-Hail, uses advanced TOPCon technology and is specially built to resist damage from hail. It features thicker, 2.5 mm fully tempered glass on both sides, which makes it much stronger than standard panels. This extra strength helps prevent cracks or breaks from hail impacts, making the panel ideal for areas that often experience storms.

In addition, the 35 mm frame is stronger than usual, which helps the panel stay secure even in high wind conditions. These improvements mean lower maintenance and replacement costs for those who invest in solar farms or large-scale installations.

Delivers more power efficiently

This new panel doesn’t just offer protection — it’s also more powerful. The TOPBiHiKu6 Anti-Hail provides up to 630 watts of power output and reaches an impressive 23.3% energy conversion efficiency, which means it can generate more electricity from the same amount of sunlight compared to older models.

The panel also performs better in hot weather thanks to its low temperature coefficient of -0.29% per degree Celsius, which means its performance doesn’t drop as much when temperatures rise.

A smart choice for solar investors

By combining higher durability with better performance, Canadian Solar’s latest product is designed to reduce the total cost of ownership for solar energy projects. Asset owners and developers can benefit from longer-lasting panels that produce more electricity over time.

Availability

So far, Canadian Solar has not announced exactly when the TOPBiHiKu6 Anti-Hail panel will be available for purchase, but it is expected to be offered for large-scale solar projects soon.
