‘Security reasons’: Imran Khan unable to attend Eid ul-Fitr prayers in Adiala Jail
The founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, has been unable to participate in Eid ul-Fitr prayers due to security concerns.
Khan’s wife, Bushra Bibi, also remained in her cell.
On this occasion, prisoners, detainees, and jail officials gathered in the jail’s main mosque to offer the Eid prayer.
Khan has marked his third consecutive Eid ul-Fitr in Adiala Jail.
Sources told Aaj News that Imran Khan was unable to attend the Eid prayers due to security reasons, without specifying.
A special duty plan has been implemented around Adiala Jail for three days, according to sources.
Authorities have set up eight additional checkpoints and barriers on the routes leading to the facility, deploying approximately 200 officers and personnel for heightened security.
Police operations will continue in three shifts, with Superintendent of Police (SP) Saddar, Muhammad Nabeel Khokha appointed as the direct supervisor of the security measures.
Authorities are also preparing for potential protests outside the jail, ensuring that deployed police will have support from a reserve force and are equipped with anti-riot gear.
