Gold surges to record highs in Pakistan amid global market rally
Gold prices, locally and globally, soared to new record levels on Friday, as the international market reached $3,074 per ounce, traders said.
Up by Rs2,380 and Rs2,041, gold prices struck new historic peaks of Rs323,380 per tola and Rs277,246 per 10 grams, respectively, All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association said.
The international gold bullion market raced up to a new record high of $3,074, posting a surge of $22 per ounce, with silver edging up to just over $34 per ounce.
Domestic silver prices registered an increase by Rs30 and Rs27, reaching Rs3,610 per tola and Rs3,096 per 10 grams, respectively, the association added.
