The last Friday of the holy month of Ramazan and Al-Quds Day were observed with deep reverence across Pakistan, including at Masjid al-Haram and Masjid an-Nabawi (Peace Be Upon Him).

Large Friday prayer congregations were held, with special prayers for Palestinians. Rallies were organised in multiple cities to express solidarity with the oppressed people of Palestine.

Nationwide observance of Al-Quds Day

Major cities, including Islamabad, Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta and Lahore, hosted Friday gatherings.

People prayed for national prosperity, development, and security.

In Islamabad, the largest congregation took place at Faisal Mosque, where stringent security measures were in place.

Special arrangements were also made for security at mosques and imambargahs across the country, including in Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir.

In Karachi, as part of the Al-Quds Day observance, a rally was held after Friday prayers from Numaish to the Tibet Centre.

Various religious organizations, including Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen, participated, and a reception camp was set up at Numaish Chowrangi.

Lahore also marked the last Friday of Ramazan as Al-Quds Day, with a rally held in Islampura.

Participants chanted slogans in favor of oppressed Palestinians, demanding an end to Israeli aggression.

Punjab government issues security directives

The Punjab Home Department issued key security instructions for Al-Quds Day and Eid al-Fitr.

According to the directive, a three-tier security system was mandated for congregational prayers.

Strict monitoring of all places of worship was ordered, with additional security personnel deployed. Entry to worship sites was restricted to a single main gate for security screening.

Protests in Peshawar against Israeli aggression

In Peshawar and other cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, demonstrations were held in support of Palestine and for the liberation of Al-Aqsa. Outside Peshawar’s Sunehri Mosque, the United Ulema and Mashaikh Council organised a protest.

Security in Peshawar was significantly tightened, with over 1,500 police personnel deployed at various mosques. Police used sniffer dogs and metal detectors for security sweeps, while patrolling was increased in suburban areas. The City Patrol Force and Ababeel Squad also enhanced their monitoring services.

Rallies in Sindh and Punjab

In Thatta, Sindh, a protest was held against Israeli brutality and in support of Palestinians.

Meanwhile, in Naushahro Feroze, a central Al-Quds Day rally was organised from Hussaini Imambargah to the Press Club, drawing participation from scholars and the general public.

In Punjab’s Bhawana, a large Al-Quds rally took place, with participants chanting slogans against Israeli atrocities. The rally attracted a significant turnout from across the tehsil.
