Bilawal Bhutto: Terrorism is at its peak and politics is deeply divided
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has stressed the urgent need to focus on law and order in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, emphasising that national consensus is crucial.
He warned that terrorism is at its peak, while political divisions continue to deepen, with militant groups operating actively in both provinces.
Speaking at Punjab Governor House in Lahore, Bilawal expressed grave concern over the deteriorating security situation.
He suggested that international forces might be backing terrorist activities and called for unity among all political parties and the nation to confront this growing threat.

“All parties must come together for the country’s welfare. If the opposition wants to engage in politics, they should focus on public issues. This is the time for collective decision-making in the national interest,” he stated.
Highlighting the country’s economic struggles, Bilawal pointed out that Pakistan’s people are suffering from poverty and unemployment. He stressed that citizens are looking toward political leaders for solutions, making it imperative to prioritise public concerns.
Expressing disappointment over some parties’ absence from the National Security meeting, he urged immediate attention to Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
“National consensus on key issues is unavoidable. Political parties must set aside their differences and unite for the country,” he added.
Bilawal also appealed to the prime minister to convene another national security meeting and bring political forces together to address security challenges.
“We must make collective decisions in the interest of the country,” he asserted.
