Bilawal Bhutto Zardari launches job portal to empower unemployed youth in Sindh
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari launched the “I Work for Sindh dot com” app, developed by the Sindh Information Department to assist unemployed youth.
The inauguration took place at the Chief Minister’s House in Karachi, attended by Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, provincial ministers, and various stakeholders.
During the ceremony, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari praised Pakistan’s security forces for their efforts against terrorism following the Jaffar Express hijacking. He emphasized the Sindh government’s commitment to public welfare projects and the need for greater employment opportunities, particularly in light of limited government jobs.
He indicated that the government will now focus on direct employment initiatives and highlighted plans to provide houses to flood victims, including ownership rights for women.
Bilawal encouraged private sector participation in job creation and announced that the PPP Youth Wing and PSF would promote the app to maximize its reach. He also shared that Sindh residents will have opportunities to study at prestigious universities worldwide, including Oxford. He noted a decrease in inflation and reiterated the government’s commitment to utilizing modern technology.
Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah stated that the Sindh government has launched a job portal to connect job seekers and providers. He urged widespread registration on the portal, which will post job ads for various grades and ensure transparency in the hiring process.
Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon highlighted that 65 percent of Pakistan’s population is youth, prompting the introduction of the job portal. He explained that the app allows educated and skilled individuals to upload their CVs to find suitable employment.
He acknowledged the youth’s preference for government jobs but pointed out that significant initiatives, like the People’s Housing Scheme, are generating employment.
