Sharjeel Memon announces arrival of new bus fleet for Peoples’ Bus Service
A new fleet of buses under the Peoples’ Bus Service arrived on Sunday at Karachi Port and will soon be on the road, PPP leader and former transport minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said.
Memon announced the arrival of the buses in a post on X, saying that the buses were procured on the orders of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
“A new fleet of Buses under the scheme of People’s Bus Service ( Phase 2 ) reached today at Karachi port. Brand new buses will be on the roads soon,” he wrote on X.
These buses were purchased by PPP’s government in Sindh under the directions of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, he added.
It is pertinent to mention that Sindh Caretaker Chief Minister Justice (retd) Maqbool Baqar directed to consult the federal government to extend the route of Green Line to Merewether Clock Tower and Pakistan Chowk of Karachi.
During a meeting held on September 13, the provincial secretary of transport said that a plan was under consideration to extend the reach of Red Line to Merewether Tower near Native Jetty Bridge.
