Gunfire incidents in Lakki Marwat and Swat: Two police officers martyred, three injured
The wave of gunfire attacks on police in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa continues, claiming the lives of two more officers and leaving three others injured.
Meanwhile, security forces successfully repelled a fifth terrorist assault on a police checkpoint in Dera Ghazi Khan.
In Dera Ismail Khan, unidentified assailants opened fire on Hospital Road, killing a police officer on the spot. Authorities have moved the body to a hospital and launched an investigation.
Separately, in Swat’s Mingora region, police conducted a search-and-strike operation in Fiza Ghat, targeting the residence of a wanted fugitive, Ahmad Zeb.

During the raid, the suspect opened fire on the police team, injuring ASI Amjad Iqbal and fatally shooting Constable Niaz Muhammad from Islampur.
The injured and deceased officers were transported to Central Hospital Saidu Sharif, while police continued efforts to apprehend the fugitive.
Gun attacks on police officers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have become alarmingly frequent, with several personnel losing their lives in recent incidents.
Meanwhile, in Punjab’s Dera Ghazi Khan district, Punjab Police thwarted a fifth terrorist attack on a police checkpoint in Taunsa.
According to the Regional Police Officer (RPO), a group of 10 to 12 heavily armed terrorists, equipped with rocket launchers and modern weapons, attempted to storm the checkpoint. However, police retaliated, forcing the attackers to flee.
Sajjad Hassan Khan, a senior official, confirmed that the Lakhani checkpoint, located on the Punjab-KP border, has been targeted multiple times this month. Each attempt, however, has been successfully repelled by security forces.
