The Sindh Education Department has introduced a new monitoring dashboard to facilitate real-time tracking of school rehabilitation efforts throughout the province.

This initiative comes in response to the significant damage caused by recent floods, which impacted 19,808 schools in Sindh, resulting in the complete destruction of 7,503 institutions and partial damage to 12,305 others.

The rehabilitation of these affected schools was a key topic at the Development Conference on Flood-Affected Schools, organized by the Sindh Education Department in partnership with the Asian Development Bank.

During the conference, officials highlighted the urgent need to enhance the resilience of school infrastructure against environmental challenges and the importance of educating students about flood risk management.

The ongoing damage to school buildings has disrupted the education of over 2.3 million students in the region.
