Senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Asad Qaiser has reiterated his party’s firm opposition to past and future military operations, declaring that PTI will strongly resist any such move.

He announced plans to hold All Parties Conferences (APCs) across all four provinces to address security concerns and promote peace.

Speaking on Aaj News’ programme “Rubaroo”, the former National Assembly Speaker unveiled PTI’s strategy, stating that the first APC will be held in Balochistan, focusing on regional issues and law and order.

He emphasised the need to engage all stakeholders to build consensus and raise public awareness. A special committee has also been formed to work on these issues.

“We will sit with all stakeholders in Balochistan to formulate a comprehensive policy. The current government does not truly represent the people, and the public has already rejected the federal government,” Qaiser asserted.

The PTI leader strongly criticised the government, stating, “Sitting with this government is pointless; they have no concern for public welfare. Their priority should be Pakistan, not personal interests.”

Accusing the government of suppressing opposition under the pretext of national unity, he said, “Instead of fostering an environment of unity, the government is cracking down on us. We demand that the country be governed according to the 1973 Constitution.”

Qaiser also claimed that during PTI’s tenure, there were no drone strikes or major terror incidents, and that border trade with Afghanistan had improved.

Rejecting military operations as a solution to security challenges, he insisted that institutions must function independently to resolve national issues.

“We did not support past military operations, and we will not endorse any future ones,” Qaiser declared.

He also blamed the current government for its failure to maintain good relations with neighbouring countries, stating that Pakistan’s diplomatic standing has suffered under their rule.

The announcement of nationwide APCs signals PTI’s intent to position itself as a key player in shaping the country’s security policy, as political tensions continue to rise.
