Naseer Soomro, one of the tallest individuals in the world, has passed away. He had been suffering from respiratory issues and joint pain for an extended period.

The 56-year-old gained international recognition for Pakistan due to his extraordinary height. Standing at 7 feet 9 inches, he was among the tallest men in the country.

Previously, Pakistani Alam Channa held the title of the tallest man, but after his passing, Naseer Soomro emerged as a prominent figure.

Later, this distinction was claimed by Multan’s Zia Rashid, who stands at 8 feet.

Originally from Shikarpur, Sindh, Soomro was residing in Karachi and was employed by the national airline, PIA.

In the past, he had fallen victim to false death rumours due to his illness.

In May 2019, reports of his death circulated on social media, but these claims were later debunked by the French news agency AFP.
