Former Chief Minister of Balochistan, Dr Abdul Malik Baloch, has stated that if elections are held again, the Baloch nation will not take part.

Speaking on Aaj News’ programme “News Insight with Aamir Zia”, he emphasised that bullets cannot solve issues.

During the discussion, Abdul Malik Baloch revealed that today’s meeting focused on Balochistan’s issues, and he presented his recommendations.

He asserted that winning the current elections holds no significance and reiterated that the Baloch people would boycott any re-election.

“We have always condemned the killing of innocent people, including recent incidents,” he said. “Dialogue is the way forward, but I don’t see negotiations happening anytime soon.”

Responding to a question about Mohsin Naqvi’s statement, Baloch criticised the government for lacking a strong narrative. “Armed groups have their stance, but the state lacks a clear policy.

Saying it’s just an SHO’s matter is naive; this is a serious conflict, and the government doesn’t understand the region’s geography.“

Sheer Afzal Marwat’s remarks

Later in the program, former PTI leader and politician Sheer Afzal Marwat discussed the deteriorating security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

“In my constituency, neither security officers nor civilians step out after dark. The same situation exists in Tank, Waziristan, Bannu, Karak, and Dera Ismail Khan,” he said.

Marwat linked the rise in terrorism to deteriorating relations with Afghanistan, holding both Pakistan and Afghanistan responsible for the situation.

“My constituency contributes Rs30 billion worth of gas and oil to the federal government, yet the region remains neglected,” he added.

He argued that if relations with Afghanistan were stable, cross-border infiltration and TTP’s influence could be curbed.

He also criticised the practice of detaining innocent people on mere suspicion, stating that such actions create sympathy for militants.

“Pakistan’s policy lacks consistency — sometimes we opt for dialogue, and other times we launch military operations.”

Marwat claimed that parliament had approved the resettlement of 40,000 people.

“Everyone except Bilawal Bhutto, Mohsin Dawar and Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar agreed to the plan,” he revealed.
