Protests continue across Sindh against new canal projects on Indus River
Protests against the construction of new canals on the Indus River continue across various cities in Sindh, with demonstrators opposing the controversial project.
In Khairpur, students took to the streets against the plan to carve out six canals from the Indus. After a rally, protesters staged a sit-in on Mehran Highway.
Journalists in Naushahro Feroze also joined the demonstrations, declaring the Indus River a “red line” and vowing to resist any canal construction.
In Matiari, the District Bar Association organized a protest against the project, with a large number of lawyers participating in a rally and chanting slogans.

Meanwhile, in Larkana, law college students staged a demonstration against the disputed canals, carrying placards and banners while chanting slogans against the government.
