Railway Minister Hanif Abbasi has announced a reduction in fares for Eid al-Fitr and the launch of four special Eid trains starting from the 25th of Ramazan.
Speaking to the media outside Parliament House, he stated that improvements in the railway department would be visible in the coming days.
He confirmed that four special Eid trains will operate from the 25th of Ramazan and mentioned receiving a briefing on the railway department today.
Abbasi emphasised that the government will work tirelessly to reduce railway losses.
He acknowledged reports of malfunctioning baggage scanning machines at railway stations and assured that a meeting would be held soon to address the issue.
He further stated that, following the prime minister’s directives, efforts will be made to enhance the railway system.
He also admitted that railway security is not up to the mark and pledged to take steps for its improvement.
It is worth noting that Hanif Abbasi was recently inducted into the federal cabinet and was assigned the railway ministry just three days ago.
