Illegal residents and Afghan Citizen Card holders ordered to leave Pakistan by March 31
Pakistan’s Interior Ministry has issued a directive for all illegal foreign residents and Afghan Citizen Card (ACC) holders to leave the country by March 31.
The ministry has confirmed that a nationwide deportation process will commence on April 1.
According to an official statement, the Illegal Foreigners Repatriation Plan (IFRP) has been in effect since November 1, 2023, and all illegal foreign nationals, including ACC holders, have now been given a final deadline of March 31, 2025, to leave voluntarily.
The ministry further stated that the deportation of Afghan Citizen Card holders will formally begin on April 1, 2025, emphasising that ample time has been provided for a dignified return.

Authorities assured that the repatriation process would be conducted without mistreatment, and arrangements for food and healthcare have been made for those returning.
The statement reiterated Pakistan’s commitment as a responsible state to fulfilling its obligations while emphasising that all residents must comply with the country’s legal and constitutional requirements.
