Karachi: Cold weather returns as winds shift
Karachi is experiencing a return of cold weather due to a change in wind direction, with dry northeastern winds blowing since last night, according to the Meteorological Department.
The city is currently partly cloudy, with cold and dry conditions prevailing.
The maximum temperature is expected to reach around 31 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is forecasted to stay between 17 and 19 degrees Celsius.
Winds are blowing at a speed of 7 km per hour from the northeast, with humidity levels at 22 percent.
The air quality in the city remains poor, with Karachi ranked eleventh among the most polluted cities in the world, according to the Air Quality Index (AQI).
The concentration of particulate matter in the air has been recorded at 152 micrograms per cubic meter.
The cold snap in Karachi has resulted in temperatures being recorded 6.3 degrees below normal.

Last night, the minimum temperature dropped to 13.1 degrees Celsius, significantly lower than the average March temperature of 19.4 degrees Celsius.

The lowest temperature was noted in Mauripur, where it dropped to 10 degrees Celsius. Other areas reported temperatures as follows: 11.5 degrees Celsius at the Jinnah Terminal, 13.6 degrees Celsius in Bin Qasim, and 13.2 degrees Celsius in Gulistan-e-Jauhar, with 12.5 degrees Celsius recorded on Shahrah-e-Faisal.
