Doctor advises wearing lighter colours to minimise heat absorption in summer

If you feel that good clothes or colorful clothes make you feel better, then don’t be mistaken to have a tendency of mood swings; such habits do affect health.

“Positive colours help to enhance happiness and energy, while darker colors can induce sadness or anxiety,” naturopath Dr Umme Raheel said while appearing on Aaj News’s Ramazan transmission Baran-e-Rehmat on Monday.

She joined the show for the Sehri transmission.

“Colors play a significant role in our lives. People who are hyperactive should avoid red as it increases blood circulation,” the naturopath said.

Dr Umme Raheel added that people who suffer from anemia and have cancer are encouraged to incorporate red into their lives.

The naturopath also stated that “individuals who suffer from anger should embrace white and green, which has a balancing effect, instead of red.”

She said: “We [people] often choose darker shades in winter and lighter shades in summer, reflecting our emotions. Our colour choices vary based on circumstances, with different colours representing happiness or sadness, indicating that colors affect our feelings.”

She advised that, particularly in summer, people should choose lighter colours to minimize heat absorption.

She emphasised that many people struggle with anger, especially during Ramazan, when teachings about self-control and patience come into play.
