Mehak Maqbool defeats Sindh CM Murad Ali in chess match
Pakistan’s under 18 chess champion Mehak Maqbool defeated Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah in 15 moves during a chess match held today.
The Chief Minister congratulated Maqbool on winning the match.
The competition took place in the Chief Minister’s House at 3:00pm.
Maqbool from SMB Fatima Jinnah Government School achieved first place in the U-18 category and the National Youth Chess Championship.
The Government of Sindh’s Sports and Youth Affairs Department organised the ‘Karachi Open Chess Championship’ at the Frere Hall on Thursday and tomorrow.
Indian teen prodigy Gukesh Dommaraju became the youngest undisputed world chess champion on December 12, 2024.
