During the discussion, the president stressed the importance of local elections, asserting that they should not face further delays in Punjab.
He announced that both he and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari would personally oversee the campaign in Punjab.
The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) parliamentary delegation expressed grievances against the government, to which President Zardari acknowledged certain limitations but reaffirmed his commitment to addressing key issues.
“The solution to public problems lies in local government elections. We must fight for the people,” he stated.
Highlighting the water crisis, he urged immediate action, adding that he had already raised the issue at various forums.
Assembly members complained that bureaucracy disregards their input. “Even assistant commissioners don’t heed additional secretaries, let alone deputy commissioners,” they lamented.
