Israel has declared a high alert after three buses exploded in the Bat Yam area, south of Tel Aviv.

Israeli police have labelled the incident a terrorist attack.

According to Al Jazeera, explosive devices planted in the parked buses were detonated remotely.

The blasts occurred late Thursday night into early Friday, but no casualties were reported.

Israeli police swiftly responded to the scene and launched a search for suspects.

A spokesperson, ASI Ahroni, confirmed that two additional explosive devices were found in other buses but were successfully defused by the bomb squad.

Officials said that all five bombs were identical and equipped with timers. Investigators are now examining charred bus frames for evidence.

Bat Yam Mayor Tzvika Brot described the incident as a miracle, emphasising that no passengers were on board at the time.

The buses had already completed their routes and were parked.
