A court sentenced on Thursday a drug supplier to jail for nine years along with a fine of Rs200,000.

The criminal Abid Hussain was arrested by Naseerabad Police in August 2023 after 1kg and 250 grams of hashish were recovered from him.

CPO Syed Khalid Hamdani appreciated the investigation and legal teams of the police department for effective prosecution.

Last month, the Coast Guards recovered 1,832 kilograms of hashish, packed in 40 plastic containers and concealed in the mountains. The recovered narcotics were believed to have been intended for smuggling either within the country or abroad.
