Eight of a family killed as passenger van plunges into Kasur nullah
At least eight members of a family were killed and two injured when a passenger van plunged into a drain near Khara Mor on Raiwind Road in Punjab’s Kasur.
Casualties were shifted to the Bulleh Shah Hospital following rescue operations. All those on board the van were from the same family, officials said.
Initial reports suggest that the victims were returning to Kasur after attending a wedding ceremony when the accident occurred, attributed to the driver’s alleged drowsiness.
Five of the deceased were identified as Laiba, Imran, Salman, Sani, and Maqsood.
In another incident in Multan, a truck loaded with stones overturned on a house, resulting in the deaths of three individuals trapped under the debris. Bodies were shifted to the hospital.
Last week, at least 10 people, including Zain Turabi, the son of the late Allama Hassan Turabi, were killed after a head-on collision between an SUV and a car on the Indus Highway near Manjhand in the Jamshoro district. Over 30 people were injured.
Moreover, a van carrying pilgrims to Shahbaz Qalandar’s shrine resulted in the deaths of six people and injuries to 10 others in Nawabshah, Sindh.
