Pakistan launches ‘Pak ID’ app to simplify visa-on-arrival process
Pakistan has launched ‘Pak ID’ mobile app for visa-on-arrival, simplifying travel for international visitors
The mobile application is aimed at streamlining the visa-on-arrival process for citizens from 120 eligible countries.
Developed by the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), the app allows users to apply for business and tourist visas and track the status of their applications in real time. The new system “reduces processing time, enabling eligible applicants to complete their visa applications within 24 hours, a process that traditionally took days.”
The app features advanced tools such as face recognition, document scanning, and photo upload capabilities, enabling users to complete their applications entirely online without the need to visit any physical offices, according to reports.
It allows users to receive notifications and track their visa status directly on their mobile devices, making the application process smoother and more user-friendly.
The app is available for download on both Android and iOS platforms. It also facilitates identity card applications for overseas Pakistanis, furthering NADRA’s mission to modernize administrative services through technology.
While the app supports visa prior to arrival applications, applicants for other visa types must visit the Pakistan Online Visa System website.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi recently inaugurated a new 24-hour passport office at NADRA’s Mega Centre in Karachi’s North Nazimabad area. The new office aims to provide uninterrupted services for national identification cards and passports.
