Former PTI leader Sher Afzal Marwat said that he would step down from his National Assembly seat if instructed by the party’s founder.

Speaking on Aaj TV’s programme News Insight with Amir Zia, Marwat admitted that he made a mistake by standing up and waving during the Swabi rally, which he believes was seen as a violation of party discipline.

He also alleged that some individuals were influencing the party founder to make decisions based on personal preferences.

Marwat criticised the appointment of Salman Akram Raja as PTI’s Secretary General, claiming that it was based on favouritism rather than merit.

He noted that Raja joined the party only eight months ago and had yet to organize a single public rally in Punjab.

Expressing his frustration, Marwat said he was repeatedly sidelined and not even allowed to speak at the Swabi gathering, calling it an unethical move.

He claimed that a targeted campaign was being run against him within the party, including derogatory statements and accusations. He further alleged that the PTI media team had resorted to personal attacks against him and accused certain leaders of manipulating decisions for their own benefit.

According to him, these individuals have failed to secure victories for the party on any front and want absolute control over all members.

Referring to PTI founder Imran Khan’s imprisonment, Marwat said that scripted narratives were being fed into his ears by those seeking to exploit their proximity to him.

He warned that if the truth were revealed, party workers would turn their backs on the current leadership.

He concluded by reaffirming his loyalty to Imran Khan and the party’s ideology, stating that his mission was to free the PTI founder from the influence of what he called a “land mafia.”
