Father of prime suspect in Mustafa murder case claims son is innocent, blames Shiraz for killing
Kamran Asghar Qureshi, father of Armaghan — the prime suspect in the Mustafa Aamir murder case — has made a sensational claim that his son is innocent and that the real murderer is a man named Shiraz.
Speaking to the media outside the Karachi Press Club, Qureshi accused law enforcement officers of fabricating the case and falsely implicating his son.
“My son has done nothing wrong. He is being framed, and the real murderer is Shiraz. A woman named Marsha, who is related to an influential businessman, is also involved in this case. Police officer ‘Bilal Tension’ is behind the entire conspiracy,” Qureshi alleged.
Qureshi further claimed that his home was being targeted following his son’s arrest.
“They have taken control of all our data. The Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) does not have it, but those who do are making our lives miserable — cutting electricity, locking our home,” he said.
He also revealed that his brother is an officer in the Anti-Vehicle Lifting Cell (AVLC) and admitted that his son surrendered due to family pressure.
Qureshi made shocking claims regarding Mustafa Aamir’s body, stating: “First, they said the body was found in Malir, then they claimed it was fed to animals, and later it was discovered in Hub. There is something deeply suspicious about how this case is being handled,” he said.
Qureshi further stated that his son had called police helpline 15 during the alleged encounter but was ignored.
Allegations of drug links
In a surprising revelation, Qureshi admitted that his son used to buy drugs from Mustafa Aamir, stating: “My son purchased five grams of ‘Dope’ for Rs250,000. But this case is not about drugs — it’s a conspiracy.”
He also denied allegations of kidnapping for ransom, claiming that police officer Bilal had fabricated the case.
Expressing frustration with the judicial system, Qureshi said: “I have no faith in this system. If I had paid a judge Rs10 million, I would be sitting in his chamber right now. Even judges’ orders are not being followed anymore,” he said.
Qureshi alleged that his life was now in danger.
“I am not Murtaza Bhutto, but look at what is happening to me. I fear for my life. My son is being tortured in custody. When I last met him, he was vomiting due to his condition,” he stated.
