PMD forecasts cold, cloudy conditions in many parts of country
The Pakistan Meteorological Department forecasted cold weather in most parts of the country with cloudy weather today (Tuesday).
In its daily update, the Met Office reported that “continental air prevails over most parts of the country.”
Isolated areas in Gilgit-Baltistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and northeast Balochistan are expected to experience rain, wind, thunderstorms, and light snowfall in the hills.
The Met Office predicted that “after a long dry period, a frontal weather system is likely to enter upper parts of the country on 19 February and will persist in Northern areas till 21 February.”
Snowfall and rain are expected on February 19 and 20 in the country’s upper regions, according to the PMD.
Rain, wind, and thunderstorms, along with light to heavy snowfall in the hills, are anticipated in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Bunner, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai, Kurram, Waziristan, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Swabi, Bannu, Karak, and Kohat, with occasional lulls in the weather.
Rain and thunderstorms with snowfalls over hills ares expected in Quetta, Ziarat, Chaman, Pishin, Qilla Abdullah, Qilla Saifullah, Chagi, Noushki, Harnai, Zhob and Musakhel on February 18 and 19.
In Sindh, dry weather is predicted by the PMD with “gusty winds” in the coastal areas.
On Friday, “partly cloudy weather” is likely in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit Baltistan.
