Modi’s US visit, a warning for Pakistan - Aaj News

Former Foreign Minister Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri discussed the recent visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the United States, suggesting that the meeting with US President Donald Trump did not appear to be cordial.

According to Kasuri, photographs of the meeting showed that the atmosphere was not warm.

He noted that Trump had stated that China’s role in the Ukraine war could be more significant than India’s and that Modi would have to purchase weapons, oil, gas, and defence equipment from the US.

Trump also suggested that India should buy the defence equipment it previously acquired from Russia from the US instead.

In an interview on Aaj TV programme News Insight with Aamir Zia, Kasuri emphasised that both Pakistan and China had correctly raised their concerns about Modi’s visit to the US, as China continues to rise as a global power.

He also stated that Pakistan could never be used against China, and while India is a major US ally, Pakistan’s diaspora in the US is deeply concerned about the situation in their home country and could play a significant role in improving it.

Senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shoaib Shaheen also appeared on the programme, addressing the rumours about internal differences within PTI.

He denied any such claims, asserting that there was no response to Imran Khan’s narrative from the establishment and their puppets.

According to Shaheen, these groups were spreading false information through social and traditional media because they had no legitimate argument.

Shaheen further stated that 90 per cent of Pakistan’s population stood with Imran Khan, and the leader was only Khan himself, while the rest of the party was composed of workers.

He added that many so-called leaders had deserted the party, with some compromising or aligning with the establishment, while others joined the “stability of Pakistan” group.

He also commented on Fawad Chaudhry, calling him a “traitor” who had fled from the courts and announced his departure from the party via a press conference.

According to Shaheen, such conspiratorial elements within the party aim to create division, but they had no place in PTI.

Shaheen condemned Chaudhry’s allegations as reprehensible and emphasized that PTI workers could recognise such turncoats.
