United Ulema Board endorses talks with Afghanistan
The United Ulema Board Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has officially endorsed negotiations with Afghanistan, emphasising that peace in both countries is inseparable and mutually dependent.
According to the Board’s Chairman, scholars from all schools of thought support the proposal for dialogue as a means to improve law and order.
He stressed that both nations must respect each other’s ideologies, borders, and traditions to ensure lasting stability.
Call for diplomatic cooperation
The Ulema Board expressed hope that Afghan soil will never be used against Pakistan, underscoring that bilateral cooperation can usher in a new era of prosperity.

High-level consensus on talks
This announcement follows a high-level meeting in Peshawar chaired by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, where political and religious leaders unanimously agreed that peace in Pakistan is directly linked to peace in Afghanistan.
The meeting also resolved that official negotiations with Afghanistan on counter-terrorism will commence soon.
