Sindh government announces public holiday on February 19
The Sindh government has declared a public holiday on February 19 to commemorate the annual Urs of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar.
A notification from the Services, General Administration, and Coordination Department confirmed that the holiday will be observed on Wednesday, February 19, in honor of the revered saint.
All government and semi-government offices, along with educational institutions, will be closed on that day.
The annual Urs of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar, commemorating his death anniversary, takes place on the 18th of Sha’aban, the eighth month of the Islamic lunar calendar.
This significant event attracts hundreds of thousands of pilgrims from across Pakistan, as well as from regions of India and Bangladesh, making it a major South Asian gathering.
