Pakistan and Turkiye strengthen ties with $5 billion trade target
Pakistan and Turkiye have reaffirmed their commitment to achieving a $5 billion bilateral trade target, with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif assuring Turkish investors of business-friendly policies in Pakistan.
Meanwhile, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan pledged full support for Pakistan in its fight against terrorism and its stance on Kashmir.
He also emphasised the need to strengthen trade ties between Islamabad, Tehran, and Istanbul.
The Pakistan-Turkiye Business Forum was held in Islamabad, attended by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Erdoğan.
In his address, PM Shehbaz welcomed President Erdoğan, highlighting the deep-rooted historical and fraternal ties between the two nations. He praised Erdoğan’s leadership, noting that Turkiye has emerged as a global technology and economic powerhouse.
The Prime Minister reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to boosting trade to $5 billion, adding that new agreements between the two countries will further strengthen cooperation across various sectors.
He assured Turkish investors of a conducive business environment in Pakistan. Shehbaz Sharif also lauded Turkiye’s unwavering support for Palestine and Kashmir, calling Erdoğan the voice of the Muslim Ummah.

President Erdoğan, in his speech, reaffirmed Turkiye’s strong brotherly ties with Pakistan, emphasizing the need to enhance cooperation across multiple sectors.
He urged Islamabad, Tehran, and Istanbul to seize trade opportunities and highlighted the significance of the Economic Corridor Project in boosting regional commerce and investment.
Touching on geopolitical challenges, Erdoğan condemned Israel’s aggression in Gaza, pledging continued solidarity with the Palestinian people.
He also acknowledged the economic hardships caused by the Syrian conflict and stressed the need for regional stability and cooperation.
